DirectControl

The tag plugin DirectControl enables you to control objects and parameters using a game controller. E.g. you can control a camera via joystick or you can drive a car through your scene while the animation is running. Things that can't be done using the built-in functions can be realized with XPresso — the controller data are output continuously.

Freely definable control channels

In each DirectControl tag you can define up to 16 control channels, that can be used to execute several actions with your game controller. The movements of the controller can be recorded and recalled without creating animation tracks. Recorded controller data can be played back even if no game controller is attached to the computer.

DRIVE!

The car simulation DRIVE! is supported directly, i.e. you don't need any XPresse rig to drive a simulated car "live" with your joystick or steering wheel. Just assign a DirectControl tag to the DRIVE! simulation object and create the control channels that you want to control the car.

If you want to control DRIVE! with DirectControl, you need the latest update DRIVE! 1.02.3!

Recording

The transformations of the objects to which a DirectControl tag is assigned, can be recorded as keyframe animation. Position keys and angle keys are created.

DirectX

DirectControl is based on the system extension DirectX 9.0. So, at present the plugin is available for Windows only.
